LGBTQ Night at Twist Salt Lake

We are so excited to be launching our first ever LGBTQ night at the infamous Twist SLC in downtown Salt Lake City. Our headliner, Farrah Moan is famous for her appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 and All-Stars and her 1M plus Instagram followers will tell you why this is not a night to be missed. 

There will be a one hour Meet & Greet for $20 pre sale tickets which entitles you to meet Farrah and take one photo with her. We will be featuring sounds by DJ Jarvicious and reveling in the gorgeousness of local artists Nikki Steele and Lady Facade, keeping the night going with their over the top performances. 

The night will be powered by Squatters Craft Beers and Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water.

Samba Queen Workshop Weekend

Samba Fogo is gearing up for our 11th Annual Samba Queen Contest. To get you in the samba spirit, we are hosting a full weekend of workshops with incredible guest artists. Workshop guest artists include Amrahu Ibraheem - 3-time National Samba King Nascimento Gabriella - 2019 Samba Queen and dancer with Portela's Comissāo de Frente Angelique Marquand Starks - director of SambAZ and host of the National Samba Queen Competition Rodson De Jesus- former dancer with Balé Folclórico da Bahia and Dance Brazil, internationally recognized teacher/performer Lorin Hansen - 2-time Female Malandro Champion and director of Samba Fogo Aninha Malandro - organizer of the International Samba Congress and Brazilian samba royalty

And of course, we will crown our 2020 Rainha Do Samba, Princesa do Samba, and Musa do Samba. The contest is open to all who are aged 21 and up. Costumes are available to rent, and each contestant gets a chance to perform a two-minute solo on stage with a live Brazilian Bateria (drum line). Guest judges and audience voting determine our 2020 winners.

Samba Queen and King Contest

Samba Fogo will heat up Salt Lake City with this 11th annual event, featuring live music and dancing for all, all night. Samba Queen is a dance party, a music concert and a dance competition. This yearly celebration is a beloved mainstay in the Salt Lake arts community, and this year Samba Fogo is turning up the heat to add three new divisions to the competition. For the first year ever, Samba Fogo will crown both a Queen and a King, plus ensembles of dancers can enter the Group section, and the Semi-Pro division will open up the Samba Queen experience to samba lovers in the community who are just beginning their samba journey.

Repertory Dance Theatre Presents Regalia

The clock is ticking, the dancers are sweating, the choreographers are frantically creating and the audience is partying. It must be RDT's annual Regalia, a fundraiser that asks the audience to award a commission. The performance culminates with a lively shindig and dancing on stage to big band music by the Joe Muscolino Band. Not to be missed! B-The Underwater Bubble Show

Recipient of last year’s Merlin Award for Best Family Show of 2018, and rooted in the rich tradition of Latvian spectacle, B - The Underwater Bubble Show is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
