In this class, we will run through 5 different methods of printmaking! Better, more confident figure drawing comes from better understanding the superficial anatomy of the body. Knowing what is causing the planar changes in the torso and limbs gives you immediate insight into how to add value and linework to your drawing. We will be beginning a course of study over the next year with this intent in mind. We will isolate sections of the body and begin with the skeletal structure working from reference and observation, followed the next week by studying the superficial muscles, ligament and tendons, and the following week working from a model. We will follow that pattern until we work our way through the full anatomy and then we will move forward working from live models, supported by good anatomical reference as a reminder of topographical changes to be aware of.
