Artist Factory First Friday: Collage with Andrew Shaw

Join local artist Andrew Shaw for a collage workshop exploring “single-page re-compositions.” In this process, participants will start with a single magazine page, tear the image into smaller pieces, and rearrange them to create a completely new composition. No cutting tools are needed. Instead, we’ll focus on tearing, layering, and gluing the pieces onto a new design, transforming the original image into a unique work of art. This FREE workshop is open to the public, with a $20 suggested donation. All ages are welcome, and the workshop is family friendly. You’re invited to drop in anytime between 6–9 PM, and you don’t need to stay the entire time. All materials are provided, and parking will be validated at OCA. Register and find our other classes at ogdencontemporaryarts.org/artist-factory-studio

Ceramics: Beginning and Intermediate (Ages 14+)

Welcome to Ceramics! In this beginning to intermediate class, adult and teen 14+ students are invited to learn or expand on the foundations of working with clay. Students can expect demonstrations to support learning methods in pottery wheel throwing (centering, pulling, and vessel formation) and hand-building (pinch, coil, slab formation). After demonstrations, students may work freely on their own projects with instructor support. Additional instruction will be woven into lessons to build knowledge in the areas of surface techniques, function, design, and expression. We highly recommend students take this class a few times before moving up. While projects can very, practice and repetition in an instructor led environment are powerful tools for progressing. Students are highly encouraged to support each other and communicate with instructors their course related questions, needs, and curiosities! PRICE: $199 for 8 Week Class Plus Fees. DIFFICULTY REGISTERING? Please call our main office for assistance! 801.474.3796

Fisher Art Market

Artists supporting artists in a community space. Fisher Art Market originated from artists in our community grabbing a beer at Fisher Brewing before and after markets. The Fisher Brewery folks would stop by the table and check in on how everyone was doing and ask what brought them to Fisher that day. Having just come from an art market, the artists would enthusiastically share about their day. Being a community-oriented business, Fisher Brewing asked if the artists would ever be interested in hosting a market at Fisher so here we are!

6 PM on the second Wednesday April - September. 21 + event with valid ID.
