Unleash your creativity in this fun-filled stop-motion animation class designed for young artists! Working as a team, students will learn how to combine 2d moving puppets with large background scenery drawings to create moving pictures. During this week, we will be creating a visual representation of Camille Saint-Saëns’s masterpiece: “Carnival of the Animals”. By the end of the camp, these kids will have a complete animated short film they created from start to finish! For the first two days of camp, students will be working as a team to draw and assemble all the character puppets and background scenery. For the second two days, we’ll be creating the animation by moving our puppets across the scenery, photographing each step, and linking all images together. The last day of class will be a chance to watch our masterpiece, and experiment with other animation tools for fun.
