Queer History Corner: Kate Thomas

For Pride Month, KRCL has collaborated with the Mildred Berryman Institute to bring you Utah queer history each Monday and Thursday throughout June. Today, we learn about the famous Utah poet Kate Thomas. She was a poet, playwright, yogi, and activist in early twentieth-century Utah. She created many famous poems, including one used for Utah's centennial celebration in 1947, but also wrote about romance, love, and, of course, women.

Becoming Diana Lone: Utah Drag Queen Spills Her Guts

The result, which begins with an Elmer's glue stick and ends with a pile of guts, is hilarious and heartwarming. As a content warning, this story includes brief discussion of suicide.
