HEAL Utah is back to talk about environmental law, Earth Day and its first-ever stand-up comedy night. Salt Lake City Arts Council with an open call for artists. Meet the DJ: Jolene Whitaker, host of KRCL's Illustrated Blues, Fridays from 3-5AM.

Rallies & Resources:

  • April 15: Utah's First Indigenous Fashion Week, 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of The Leonardo Museum, 209 E. 500 S., SLC. Doors open at 6:00 pm more info here. Read more about Utah's First Indigenous Fashion Week here. Featuring work from multiple tribes including Hopi, Navajo (Diné), Ute, Northern Ute, Apache, Anishinaabe Ojibwe, and many more. This fashion show is led by Hopi/Tewa artist and fashion designer, Jessica Wiarda (Honovi Designs) along with Navajo (Diné) artist Michael Haswood and Navajo (Diné) TV & Film Producer and Model Sahar Khadjenoury. Everyone of all peoples, nations, and tribes are welcome to attend this event celebrating contemporary Indigenous fashion, jewelry, and accessories.

  • April 22: First annual Jordan River Clean-up for Earth Day, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Jordan Park.

Salt Lake City Arts Council's Todd Oberndorfer issued an open call for artists for Finch Lane Gallery 2024 exhibitions.

  • This Call for Entries is open to all artists, artist-led teams, and/or curators residing in Utah regardless of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. All visual arts media including new genres are considered. Deadline: April 20, 2023. Click here for more details

  • May 11: Stand Up and HEAL: A Cure for Legislative Hangover, 6:00 p.m. at Wiseguys Comedy Club, 194 S. 400 W., SLC. Event by HEAL Utah: "This year’s legislative session was a tough one, and we could all use some humor to help us recover. Please join HEAL Utah for our first-ever stand-up comedy night. Cure that legislative hangover with a fun night filled with laughter and a lighter approach to our annual legislative recap. After a short recap of the session by the HEAL Utah policy team, enjoy comedy by our headliner, Kasha Patel. All event proceeds will go toward HEAL Utah’s campaigns protecting our environment."
