RadioACTive shares stories recorded at the station's 45th Birthday Bash, including radiolore with Stephen Holbrook, Maggie Laun, Nini Rich, and Bob Flores.

Tonight's show features some of KRCL's history as we celebrate 45 amazing years of serving the community with music discovery and community connection.  

KRCL went live at 3:00 p.m. on this date in 1979. To honor 45 years of community radio, we held a big birthday bash last month, including a history panel. We'll share clips all week long, but tonight you'll hear from some of the folks who were in the room when KRCL 90.9fm went live, including:

  • Founding Father Stephen Holbrook on how it all started and KRCL's legacy

  • Bob Flores, who had journalism experience so we made him an engineer

  • Maggie Laun and Nini Rich, who — along with Barb Guy, Donna Land, Anina Mitchell and others — created "Women Aloud"
