Deep album cuts, rare jems and the stories that go with it - rise and shine With John Florence and a mix of vintage rock, as well as new releases and forgotten favorites. At 7:20am play These Three Songs where you guess the connection between the three songs.
Join Troy as he spins the latest in roots and Americana from Across the Tracks.
Meet on the backporch for some rootsy, country, acoustic, folk-style blues. Hear new songs and singers in the roots blues tradition, the artists that inspired them, and some innovative, experimental blues taking the genre in new directions. It's Backporch Blues Ramble with the beauty and, at times, simplicity of blues that focuses on feeling, sincerity, and rawness.
Playing 1950s rock n roll and its precursors such as late 1940s and early 1950s rhythm and blues, rockabilly, with a pinch of Texas swing. Add to the music stories, anecdotes and background on the music that has changed America.
On the Night Train hear a mix of alternative country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, soul and blues – also known as Americana, with origins spanning the United States. Whether it’s a Texas ballad, or a Mississippi swamp tune, this is real music, played with real instruments. You might find the artists names in Hall of Fame, but these songs don’t belong on top forty radio.
Get into the spirit of improvisational music from jazz to bluegrass, Americana to rock with Off the Cuff. Explore the roots of modern jazz with the likes of Miles Davis and John Scofield, cover bluegrass stalwarts like Doc Watson and Jerry Garcia. And, hear from newer jam-based artists like Billy Strings, Goose and Grace Bowers.
Wake up on Saturdays with a mix of music from Peter.
Since March 1980 as a teenager, Brian has been spinning the Blues on KRCL. From the studio, broadcasting live Blues remotely back in the day, local artists, national, new, old, boogie woogie, West Coast, swing, acoustic, electric, Texas and Chicago Blues, and everything in between, it's all here - though the focus is on new Blues, currently touring Blues artists. As Utah Blues Society President Emeritus and Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise Emcee, Brian scours the globe to bring you the best in Blues. As B.B. King says in kicking off Brian's show every Monday night at 8, "Stay tuned, because Brian's gonna blow your mind away with the blues!" AND, on Jan. 16, 2018, Brian was revered with the highest honor in the Blues world, the "Keeping The Blues Alive" award from The Blues Foundation in Memphis. Congrats on this prestigious lifetime award Brian!
