Looking to re-engage with folks after the election, journalist and community advocate Enrique Limón is taking action with a new gathering. We Ride at Dawn is an "intersectional space for community during these trying times."

  • Nov. 19: We Ride at Dawn, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Publik Roasting Company, 975 S. West Temple St., SLC. Event by Enrique Limón: "A grassroots evening of intersectional conversation that asks 'Now what?' as we look toward the future. It’s no secret that we as a community are experiencing hopelessness and hurt. This salon-style evening aims to provide an arena to express these concerns and band together. Speakers: LaVonne Wells Sandberg global speaker and love activist; Jakey Siolo, organizer and advocate; Karrie Galloway, former ED, Planned Parenthood Utah; Julie Mayhew, disability advocate; Carl Moore, co-founder, PANDOS; Dalia Dawalia, educator; Ma Black, community advocate; Rae James Duckworth, operating chair, Black Lives Matter Utah. PLUS a special musical performance by Kenny Starling McCormack (The Starling Co.) Light snacks will be provided. Coffee (and non-caffeinated options) will be available for purchase at Publik.   • Nov. 21: Sean Dorsey Dance presents The Lost Art of Dreaming, 7:30 p.m. at Kingsbury Hall, 1395 E. Presidents Circle, SLC. Event by UtahPresents: "The Lost Art of Dreaming is the latest work of Sean Dorsey Dance, an imaginative and Emmy Award-winning contemporary dance company. Led by Sean Dorsey, the U.S.’s first acclaimed transgender modern dance choreographer, the company uses story-based dance to explore the human experience. The Lost Art of Dreaming invites the audience to connect with their own joy and look towards a brighter future."
