Local record store owners are on to talk about Record Store Day, plus Corriente Alterna, an  arts events featuring Mexican, Chicanx, and Latinx makers. And we heaer from Chasten Buttigieg 

Tonight's edition of RadioACTive features the following people, organizations and/or events. Check them out and get plugged into your community:

Stephanie Garcia and Peter Hay join us to talk about Corriente Alterna. It is an international biennial live arts platform celebrating the multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary innovative Mexican, Chicanx, and Latinx makers from Mexico and the United States. This is a program by PROArtes México in partnership with loveDANCEmore and the Consulate of Mexico in Salt Lake City

  • April 10-20 at various venues. "During a 10-day program across different Salt Lake City venues, we will present the work of local and national Mexican, Chicanx, and Latinx makers, as well as Mexican visiting artists."

RadioACTive's Lara Jones and Olivia Jaramillo had the opportunity to talk to Chasten Buttigie as part of Wesminster Univeristy's Presidential Speaker Series.

  • April 8 at 5p.m., Westminster University-Vieve Gore Concert Hall, 1840 S 1300 E Salt Lake City. "Chasten Buttigieg, husband of former mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, has become a popular figure in his own right. The teacher's wit, intimate social media musings, and inspiring speeches have prompted glowing media coverage and declarations that he "won the 2020 spouse primary.""

Another edition of Show Us Your 45s featuring Graywhale. They are audio-field trips to some of Utah's beloved record stores. They premeire as audio and video. Find the videos here. 

Record Store Day is this Saturday April 12. For Roundtable Tuesday we are joined by Dustin Hansen, owner of Graywhale, and Ryan Condrick owner of Synth and Soul Records to hear about the day and how it continues to grow the record community and has changed over the years.
