Friday, August 15: 40th Annual Paint Your Heart Out | various locations in SL County throughout the day. Volunteers needed! Neighborworks Salt Lake's new CEO, Bryce Garner, fills us in.

Aug. 15-16: Westside CultureFest | 5-10 PM | Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center, 2525 Taylorsville Blvd, Taylorsville. RadioACTive gets a preview with SL County Arts & Culture's Jenn Niedfeldt and performing partners Theia, Marqueza, and Myke Johnson of Spy Hop.

  • FREE: "Celebrate Salt Lake County’s vibrant Westside with this free two-day festival celebration of arts and community, featuring over 25+ performances on-stage and outdoors, an artist market featuring local artists and craftspeople, food trucks, a bar area for adults, art activities for kids, and incredible experiences for all ages. Families and kids have been shopping all the sales to head back to school this month. RadioACTive finds out what teachers are up to. Joining us are two Utah Teacher Fellows:

  • John Arthur, Meadowlark Elementary (6th Grade) 

  • Elyse Arrington, East High School (English Language Arts Teacher & Reading Interventionist)

WATCH: Utah State School Board Meeting, Aug. 7, 2025. From approximately 9:15-30:15, Board Member Christina Boggess (R-Dist. 8) delivers an opening message on behalf of the board called "The Genius Plows the Field." In it, she references McCarthyism, Communism, Fascism, Maoism, the Unabomber, and Jesus, among other topics.
