August 24 - Professor Esiteli Hafoka of Stanford University Professor of ancient history and religious studies and one of the first Tongan women to receive a PhD from Stanford University.
September 7th - Jenilyn Su’a UPICEC Jenilyn Su’a + Celeste Vai-Fu-oo of Utah Pacific Islander Civic Engagement Coalition shares her community activism in the Pasifika community here in Utah including advocating for the right to wear regalia at graduation. UPICEC aims to have Pasifika community members involved in their local government.
September 21 - JP Foilaki JP “John Paul” Foliaki actor + filmmaker recently starred in “Red White & Brass (2023)” Inspired by a true story. Straight up, this actually happened. From the producers of Hunt for the Wilderpeople and The Breaker Upperers. "JP has experienced ‘mental health’ issues in our Tongan community that is not normal for the men to go through something we do not feel is “real.” But his experience has helped him to find his true passion and that is to do what HE loves.
