  • Seeds are available from The City Library's seed library for free. You are encouraged to take as many seeds as you will use. No library card is needed to use the seed library. If you are able to successfully grow your seeds, you are encouraged to wait until the plants produce seeds again, then return a portion of them to the seed library. If you have any questions you can contact the Garden Coordinator at theplot@slcpl.org.

Symbria Patterson of Red Acre Center, which just this week opened registration for its Utah Farm & Food Conference Jan. 11-13, 2024. October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month. We check in with Best Friends Animal Society's Frankie Brummett and Margaret Langworthy and Duke of the Utah Humane Society.

  • Oct. 21: Strutt Your Mutt, 10a-2p at Liberty Park, SLC. Event by Best Friends Animal Society: "Step up. Step out. Save lives! Learn more and register here: bestfriends.org/strut. An animal fundraising walk and festival to help Utah's homeless pets. Fundraising walk, activities for you and your dog, pet-friendly vendors, and so much more! All the funds raised during Strut Your Mutt go directly to the animals of Best Friends or the participating Utah animal welfare organization of your choice! Those interested in volunteering for the event may email utahvolunteer@bestfriends.org.

  • CuteTah Calendars 2024. All proceeds from the sale of this 8-1/2″ x 11” wall calendar support the Humane Society of Utah, a private 501(c)3 nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to the elimination of pain, fear, and suffering in all animals.
