  • Sept. 9: , 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Jordan Park, 1060 W. 900 W., SLC. Event by USARA - Utah Support Advocates for Recovery Awareness: "USARA's Recovery Day celebration supports and empowers individuals in recovery and recognizes the contributions of family members, service providers, and allies who come together to raise awareness that together we can recover from addiction by creating hope, healing, and health through many pathways. For more information on sponsorship and booths, or to see other Recovery Month events across the state, please visit www.recoveryday.org." 

  • Sept. 30: Davis County Recovery Day, 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Dr., Layton. "Information booths, guest speakers, food trucks, live music and activities. Recovery Day supports and empowers individuals and recognizes the contributions of family members, service providers, and allies who come together to raise awareness that together, we can recover from addiction by creating hope, hearing, and health through many pathways."

Kase Johnstun of Utah Humanities' Center for the Book stops by to preview the Utah Book Festival. In addition to a rundown of the nearly 70 literary events planned for National Book Month in October, he shared a clip of his upcoming Center for the Book podcast featuring Rebecca Clarren, author of The Cost of Free Land: Jews, Lakota, and an American Inheritance (Penguin Random House, Oct. 3, 2023).

  • Oct. 12: Pintxos + Libros Talks with author Rebecca Clarren, 6:00 p.m. at Casot Win + Work, 1508 S. 1500 E., SLC. "The King's English Book Shop and Casot Wine + Work are pleased to present Pintxos + Libros, featuring Rebecca Clarren, author of The Cost of Free Land to discuss the book, the research, and the writing of The Cost of Free Land and more.

  • Oct. 13: Rebecca Clarren reading and discussion, 7:00 p.m. at The Leonardo, SLC. "Ken Sander's Rare Books and The Leonardo host Rebecca Clarren, author of The Cost of Free Land, to their new space at the Leonardo for a reading and discussion."
