Filmmaker Amy Redford on themes of gender norms, sexual entanglement, and family in her new film, What Comes Around. The film is playing through Thursday at Broadway Centre Cinemas, but also is available on major streaming platforms.

  • Soren Simonsen, executive director of the Jordan River Commission, an Interlocal Agency he helped establish in 2010. The Commission is comprised of more than 30 local, state and federal government agencies, together with community partners, working to conserve, preserve, restore and improve the 50-mile Jordan River Parkway in Utah. 

  • Millcreek City Council member Silvia Catten, who also is the current Governing Board Chair for the Jordan River Commission.

  • Jorgan Hofeling of Dominion Energy Utah, which provides natural gas service to almost 1.2 million customers in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. Dominion has contributed to conservation efforts along the river, including purchasing grasses and sustainable plants and working with volunteers from its employee base to plant and do regular cleanups.

  • Sept. 1-30: Get To the River Festival. Event by Jordan River Commission and community partners: Join the 10th Annual Get to the River Festival for 30 days of river-focused celebrations and conservation activities hosted by partners and communities along the Jordan River. The 2023 festival will have activities and events to bring together communities, businesses and local governments to celebrate, restore, and recreate on the Jordan River corridor. Thousands of people each year turn out to celebrate the many wonderful things the river has to offer as well as volunteer to help clean up and restore the river to make it a destination for all to enjoy for generations to come.
