KRCL History Spotlight, with Carlie Jimenez, host of Reading on KRCL back in the 1980s. Jimenez recently came across cassette tapes from her program that featured a 5-part reading and analysis of Irish writer James Joyce's Ulysses. Its structure based on Homer's Odyssey, the 1922 novel follows protagonists Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus through the streets of Dublin on Thursday, 16 June 1904. Tonight, we share just 30 minutes from Jimenez's cassette archive, featuring analysis by preeminent Joycian scholar Professor Karen Lawrence and reading by Professor David Jones.
