Are Utah's water rates draining Great Salt Lake?

Utah Rivers Council says yes. RadioACTive talks with Executive Director Zach Frankel about water rates. Yesterday, the Jordan River Water Conservancy District held a hearing to raise rates by 11% for the nearly 800,000 water users it serves in Salt Lake County.

Roundtable Tuesday: A Celebration of the Ages – National Senior Day

National Senior Citizens Day is Thursday, Aug. 21, as declared by President Ronald Reagan in 1988. Roundtable Tuesday convenes a panel with James Brown of Living & Aging with Pride, a multimedia project that addresses the inevitability of aging, shares resources, and more. In addition to Brown, guests include: Tracy Aviary's Gabrial Cabal; Excellence Concert Series' Jeff Whitely; Robyn Mons, coaching expert; and Donnielle Schroeder, event specialist.

  • Aug. 21: A Celebration of the Ages for National Senior Citizens Day | 11-4 PM | Tracy Aviary @ Liberty Park, 589 E, 1300 S, SLC. "In collaboration with the famous James Brown from Living & Aging with Pride, Tracy Aviary is excited to host a community festival dedicated to honoring older adults on National Senior Citizens Day! This event brings together: live music across generations, local vendors and artisan booths, wellness/resource providers, and interactive experiences. Join us for a fun-filled event with a wide variety to choose from, from connecting to celebrating to joy. This day will be full of laughter, impact, and lasting memories. Price: $1.00 for people 55+.
