The Let Utah Vote coalition held a press conference today shining a light on what they say is lawmakers' attempt to cut off public access to ballot initiatives. They called for support in opposing H.J.R. 14 -- Proposal to Amend Utah Constitution - Statewide Initiatives (Rep. Kyle, J) and H.B. 284 -- Initiative Amendments (Rep. Kyle, J). Speakers featured on tonight's show included:

Zach Frankel of Utah Rivers Council, which issued an alert late this afternoon about a $10 million appropriation for the proposed Cove Reservoir Dam on the East Fork of the Virgin River near Zion National Park. 

  • Feb. 1: House Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee, 8:00 am in Senate Building Room 210. The meeting can be listened to virtually at this website.

Celeste L. Edmunds, executive director of The Christmas Box International. Nick Burns talked with Edmunds about Garbage Bag Girl, her story of being raised by addicted parents and, at a young age, learning to survive and protect siblings from rapists and drug dealers.
