Homegrown music of Queenadilla to start us off. More true tales of the agrihood with Phil LaRocca, the country's first certified organic apple grower. Red Acre Center and Chef Shon are back for a legislative update. Plus, Skywatcher Leo T, FNFO's Keith McDonald's warm clothing drive update, and tomorrow's Rally for Ukraine.

Homegrown music from Queenadilla out of Provo. Self-described as "riff-heavy rock n roll played from the hips." See them live on March 21 at ABG's in Provo. Links to their music online at queenadilla.com, and expect a new album by summer. 

Keith McDonald of Friday Night Fallout with a request for new and gently used warm clothing for those in need.

  • Feb. 28: FNFO Warm Clothing Drive ends today. Items needed include new thermal socks and undergarments; new or gently-used and clean beanies, scarves, gloves and shoe covers; hand warmers; and new or lightly used sleeping bags. Jessica Arch of Lifting Hands International, a Utah nonprofit that has been helping civilian Ukrainians caught in the crossfire of the war. "Backed by a robust network of volunteers and donors across Utah, LHI provides support, physical and emotional, that people need to get through excruciating situations. Humanitarian aid is about more than just survival. It’s a message: you are not forgotten."

  • Feb. 22: A Just Peace for Ukraine, Stability for the World - Capitol Rally, 11:30a-2:30p at the Utah State Capitol, 350 N. State St., SLC. Event by Utah Ukrainian Association: "On behalf of the Utah Ukrainian Association, we invite you to join us for a rally at the Utah State Capitol, where we will call for a just peace in Ukraine, as we mark three years of the ongoing war and the unwavering strength of the Ukrainian people. This event aims to raise awareness and garner support for Ukraine during these challenging times. Community leaders, activists, and members of the Ukrainian-American diaspora will gather to share their voices and perspectives. Among the speakers will be Jonathan Freedman, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Utah, who will offer his insight on the importance of global solidarity."

Symbria and Sara Patterson of Red Acre Center, a non-profit that advocates for a stronger local food economy & opportunities for the general public to understand food production, and Chef Shon Foster. The trio spearheaded RAC's annual Small Ag Day on the Hill earlier this week.

Aldine's Urban Farm Report with LaRocca Vineyards founder Phil LaRocca, the first certified organic apple grower in the United States and creator of the first certified non-sulfite wine. He's also the Board Chair of CCOF - California Certified Organic Farmers. You won't want to miss the lessons he's learned, including surviving the 2018 wildfire most known for destroying the northern California town of Paradise.
