More than 300+ nonprofits have signed up for the inaugural giving event created by the Utah NonProfits Association (UNA) to showcase and support the work of charitable organizations in Utah.
May 1: Workers Over Billionaires May Day Rally | 3-5 PM @ Washington Square, 451 S State St (200 East side), SLC.
May 15-17: Living Traditions Festival at the Civic Center | 200 E 400 S, SLC. Free to Attend. Volunteers wanted. Salt Lake Arts Council Executive Director Felicia Baca drops by with updates on the festival, as well as the search for a SLC Poet Laureate (submission deadline is May 17).
RadioACTive begins an occasional series with James Brown of Living and Aging with Pride to "flip the script" on aging. Once a month, Brown will bring in guests to share their stories and the causes they care about.
Lori Cox, Executive Director, Family Support Center. FSC provides respite and crisis nursery care for children ages 0 through 11 so that parents (and grandparents) can catch their breath and approach parenting in a healthy way. They also provide parent education, self-sufficiency programs, and housing services for single parents.
Dr. Bill Cosgrove, Pediatrician. A retired pediatrician, Cosgrove advocates for children and their families. His main interest is in the mental and emotional health of infants and their parents. An infant actively nurtured by loving adults learns to identify and then regulate their emotions, thus building a healthy foundation for future physical and emotional thriving. Grandparents play a major role in this process.
