Take a Hike with Ashley Brown

With the 12th annual Get to the River Festival all month long, there are plenty of hikes to introduce or remind you of the beauty of the Jordan River. Local hiking expert Ashley Brown, author of Urban Trails: Salt Lake City, talks with Soren Simonsen, executive director of the Jordan River Commission, and gets his pick for a hike of the week.

  • Featured Hike of the Week: Simonsen suggests hiking from Perry Farms in Bluffdale, along the Jordan River, through the narrows, south to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. Utah Catholic Youth Celebrate 'God's Influencer'

After Pope Leo XIV canonized Carlo Acutis last Sunday, Utah Catholic Youth are ready to celebrate the first-ever millennial saint as part of a larger Diocesan Youth Rally taking place at St. Ann's from September 12–14RadioACTive follows up with Father Gustavo Vidal of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Layton and youth leader Mike Edwards.

  • Sept. 12: Thanksgiving Celebration for the Canonization of St. Carlos Acutis | 6-9 PM @ St. Ann's Catholic Church, 2119 S 400 E, SLC. Acutis was known for using the Internet to spread his faith, and two miracles were attributed to him during his short life. Events take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
