Rallies & Resources Spotlight (full list here):

  • Aug. 6 & 9: 80th Anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively. RadioACTive passes the mic to Downwinder survivor and advocate Mary Dickson and Capitol Hill Action Group's Stan Holmes. Both have long fought for survivors of nuclear testing to receive the medical care they need, as well as for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

Harm Reduction Getting Harmed?

According to a recent study, Utah leads the nation in suspected non-fatal overdose visits to the ER because someone had and knew how to use Naloxone. If administered quickly and effectively, the drug can reverse the effect of an opioid overdose. That's harm reduction in action. But a new executive order from President Trump is placing harm reduction practices at risk. RadioACTive talks with MacKenzie Bray of Salt Lake Harm Reduction Project.

Changing of the Guard

With the April announcement that Sonya Martinez-Ortiz would be stepping down after five years as executive director, Rape Recovery Center has been looking for its next leader. RadioACTive talks with Gary Scheller, who took the reins at RRC just last month.
