Tuesday, April 14: Looking for Earth Day events? RadioACATive gets a sneak peek of Science + Literature: Curiosity, Connection and Coexistence, an Earth Day conversation between mycologist Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian and Utah poet Katharine Coles. Kaishian blends science writing and memoir in her debut work of nonfiction, Forest Euphoria: The Abounding Queerness of Nature, which the two will discuss in person later this month. Plus, Living Traditions Festival, Lavender GraduationUtah Film Center, and musician Jim Bone and Survivor Wellness.

UTAHGives Day: Spotlight on Nonprofits

Musician Jim Bone shares the mic with Dana Levy, Executive Director of Survivor Wellness. Since 1997, the organization has been transforming cancer survivorship by providing free services and support to any individual impacted by cancer, as well as their family members, loved ones, and caregivers in a welcoming, home-like setting.

Roundtable Tuesday: The Abounding Queerness, Poetry of Nature

Mycologist Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian will be in Utah for a special Earth Day reading and signing of her debut nonfiction work, Forest Euphoria: The Abounding Queerness of Nature. A 2026 Science + Literature selected title, Kashian explores the often overlooked creatures and fungi that helped her understand the natural world, her connection to a career in science, and her own identity as a queer, neurodivergent person.

Poet Katharine Coles, distinguished professor and co-director of the Utah Symposium in Science and Literature, will moderate the conversation on April 22. Limited free copies of Forest Euphoria: The Abounding Queerness of Nature will be available at the event, first-come, first-served.
