August 4: RadioACTive Pop! brings you SL Mag's Best of the Beehive 2025 with Editor Jeremy Pugh. Rallies and Resources shines a light on the Fernandes Scholarship Fund, a new scholarship that is free to be DEI. From intern to executive director, Dominique Byrd now leads Comunidades Unidas.   • Aug. 7: How to Talk To Your Children About Gender and Sexuality | 6:30 PM & 21+ | SaltFire Brewing Co., 2199 S West Temple St, SoSaLa. This event is the first of several community events to be hosted by the Fernandes Scholarship Fund.   • Aug. 17: Comunidades Unidas 26th Birthday Loteria Celebration | 3-6 PM | Beer Bar, 161 E 200 S, SLC. RadioACTive talks with Dominique Byrd, who's gone from intern to executive director. Established in 1999, CU fights to build the social and political power of people who identify as Latinx immigrants (including undocumented folks) living in Utah. 

    • SUPPORT: "Comunidades Unidas has launched a celebratory engagement effort called the 'High Five, Dominique!' campaign, inviting community members to show support for the new Executive Director through symbolic $5 donations. The initiative aims to honor Dominique’s leadership while raising funds for CU’s ongoing programs. Donate today at cuutah.org/donate."

  • Oct. 3: Land We Share, Utah's Public Lands Summit | 8-5 PM | Westminster University, SLC. Presented by Stewardship Utah, Community Engagement Coordinator Billy Palmer explains the event and what's at stake. For tickets, click here.
