"Join the Eccles Broadcast Center for their Winter Food and Clothing Drive. Bring frozen turkeys, hams, and other food or clothing items to help Utah families in need during the holiday season." Neighborhood House: "Give A Gift is a holiday program that ensures every one of our clients, along with their families and caregivers, experiences the joy of giving and receiving during this special time of year. It's a chance for our community to come together and spread holiday cheer. Here's how you can get involved: individuals can visit nhutah.org/giveagift and sign up to sponsor gifts for our child and adult clients or gift baskets for their families and caregivers. Once registered, sponsors will receive an email with all the detailed information about the gifts, making it easy to kickstart your holiday shopping. To ensure timely delivery, all gifts and baskets must be dropped off at Neighborhood House by December 8th. For child and adult gifts, please drop them off unwrapped, indicating the recipient's name and classroom number for kids, or just the name for adults. Neighborhood House provides quality preschool, youth programs, and adult care in the Salt Lake Valley. Our mission is to enrich, empower, and educate children and adults through quality, affordable preschool programs, daycare services, and comprehensive support services. Salt Lake City, Catholic Community Services Winter Clothing Drive. Available times for drop-off donations are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the Salt Lake City and County Building (451 S State Street, 2nd Floor). The community is encouraged to donate gently used adult men's and women’s size items, including jeans, snow pants, coats, vests, jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, blankets, and sleeping bags. All items should be washed before donating. New socks and undergarments are also greatly needed.

Dec. 14, 2023 - Jan. 5, 2024:124th Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Each bird count takes place in an established 15-mile diameter circle, and volunteers will be given specific routes to drive and hike through the area, counting every bird they see or hear during the route. Deadline for HUM open call, in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. "We are honoring Native American Heritage Month with an open call for submissions highlighting Native and Indigenous Nations and voices in our area –– this includes the land currently called Utah and any reservations along the border. The HUM call for submissions is open to recordings released in the last 10 years. The call will be highlighting Native artists and Indigenous voices from the region currently called 'Utah' as well as reservations along the state border. Artists selected to be a part of the collection will receive an honorarium ($200 for LP, $100 for EP). The call is open to original music (traditional music is also welcome as long as it is not under copyright).
