  • A special screening of the Palestinian films Fatenah and Where Should the Birds Fly, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the UoU's Olpin Student Union, 200 Central Campus Dr., SLC. Films include Fatenah (2009), the first animated film produced entirely in Palestine by Palestinian producers and animators; and Where Should the Birds Fly (2013), a documentary that shows life in Gaza through the eyes of two young women: Mona Samouni and the filmmaker, Fida Qishta. To reserve a seat, click here

  • Utah State Poetry Society Spring Festival, Residence Inn, 1290 S. University Ave., Provo. "Admission fees for members ($30). Visitors ($5), and students (Free). Come one, come all to the 2024 Spring Festival! We will be honored to hear from guest speakers Michael Lavers and Rob Carney. Carney will also lead us in a workshop about writing poetry. We will have the pleasure to learn the winners of 38 categories of the annual UTSPS poetry contest and hear the winners read their winning poems. Saturday, April 27:

  • Dutch King's Day 2024, 11a-5p at Millcreek Common, 1330 E. Chamber Ave., Millcreek. "Koningsdag or King's Day is celebrated across the world, with the biggest celebration in Amsterdam where millions of visitors and locals wear orange to join in the world's largest street party to celebrate King Willem-Alexander's birthday. Salt Lake City joins the fun with this free, family event showcasing the culture and traditions of Holland. Dutch King's Day features Dutch Music, craft booths, authentic Dutch cuisine and beer, kids' games, and a bicycle parade. The flag of the Netherlands is red, white and blue, but orange is the color of the royal family and most everyone embraces this bright, happy color, welcome after a long, gray winter. WEAR ORANGE and learn how to party like the Dutch! Dutch King's Day is presented by the Old Dutch Store and Dutch Social Club of UT."
