HIVE ALERT: H.B. 233 -- School Curriculum Amendments has been scheduled for a hearing in the House Education Committee on Thursday, February 13, at 2:00 p.m. Shireen Ghorbani of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah explains the bill as written "prohibits a local education agency from allowing entities that perform elective abortions to provide health-related instruction or materials in public schools." She says this means it would prohibit PPAU from teaching or distributing health-related materials in Utah public schools.

Lawmakers seem to be big on small nuclear reactors this session. Unusual for a state with a significant Downwinder population? RadioACTive talks it over with HEAL Utah's Lexi Tuddenham and Eagle Mountain precinct chair and delegate Megan Strader. Check out the following resources:

Kathy Biele of the League of Women Voters of Utah, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. To follow the league's 2025 bill tracker, click here.

From our Sundance team, Connor Estes talks with director Tadashi Nakamura about his documentary Third Act. In it, Tadashi turns his camera on his father Robert, known as the “godfather of Asian American media," as he deals with Parkinson's.
