Utah Poor People's Campaign, Farm Bill Goes to Senate, Glass Temples and Throwing Stones, SUWA Sounds Alarm on Emery County Public Land Management Act

- Utahns Against Hunger’s Gina Cornia with an update on the federal Farm Bill, which passed the U.S. House last week. Cornia: “It’s now up to the Senate to do better for low-income families and individuals. We urge Senator Hatch and Senator Lee to support the bipartisan Senate farm bill and reject any harmful amendments that would incorporate provisions from the House bill or make other changes that would take away food assistance from people who are struggling.”
- Filmmaker Amanda Stoddardand artist Debra Brinkerhoff on sexual abuse through the eyes of artists, filmmakers and the media.
- Thursday, June 28: Throwing Stones: Telling Stories of Resilience, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Public Library, 210 E. 400 S., SLC. FREE, but they would like an RSVP for planning purposes. - Dave Pacheco and Neal Clark of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance on H.R. 5727, the Emery County Public Lands Management Act of 2018, which SUWA believes will wreck the San Rafael Swell and change the fate of 1.5 million acres of wild public lands in the area. CLICK HERE to learn more.
