The Legislative Priorities of Environmentalists with the Utah Chapter Sierra Club and Utah Rivers Council, plus Sugar-Free February with Dr. Mike Jaffe.

Dr. Mike Jaffe returns for a check-up for the KRCL Sugar-Free February Challenge, highlighting the sugar industry and black history, plus helpful advice to help challenge takers on course to the end of the month. 

Legislative Priorities of Environmentalists

Utah Chapter Sierra Club Director, Carly Ferro and Senior Campaign Representative, Lindsay Bebee shared bills they are actively opposing and encouraged listeners to visit their website to find see their bill tracker to learn more.  Bebee also shared the following, virtual event:

  • Utah 100 Communities - Community Partners & Advocates, Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Community partners, advocates, and interested members of the public are invited to come to learn about and discuss the proposed Governance Agreement for the Utah Community Renewable Program (also known as HB 411) 

Zach Frankel of Utah Rivers Council warned about  House Bill 297, a measure that would create what Utah legislative leaders are calling the Colorado River Authority of Utah, Frankel sights that provisions in the bill would allow government business to be conducted inside closed doors and out of the eye of the public.
