  • Dec. 17: Friendsmas Eve with Racist Kramer, 7:00 p.m. at Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 E., SLC. A Punk Rock X-Mas benefitting the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition. The lineup includes Cop Drama, Fail to follow, Damn Dirty Vultures, Pirates of the Promised Land. Hosted by Terry Myers. 21+ venue.

Callista Pearson of Salt Lake County Animal Services, the largest life-saving, municipal shelter in Utah.

"Adopt a pet, bring your pet to have a quick snap with SantaPAWS, crafts, prizes and treats! Workday is donating adoption baskets for dogs and cats adopted on December 17!     PHOTOS with SANTAPAWS: For a suggested donation of $5, have your pet sit with Santa, and you (or we) can snap a quick photo with your phone. There will be a "treat" table to assemble a "frosted cookie" for your pup. A craft table to make YOUR very own dog tag."

  • Jan. 28: First Annual Utah Flower Conference, 9a-2p at Wheeler Historic Farm, 6351 S. 900 E., Murray. Event by Utah Cut Flower Farm Association: "Come learn from experts in the floral industry and connect with other growers as we improve our ability to grow and sell sustainable blooms in Utah! This year’s conference program includes expert speakers, a floral demonstration, Q&A sessions, a catered lunch and more! Special keynote speakers include Alison Faulkner and Danielle Dall’Armi from Rose Story Farm. This is a ticketed event that is open to the public, so both members and non-members are welcome to attend. UCFFA members do qualify for a 70 percent discount."
