Earlier today, Third District Judge Andrew Stone ruled in favor of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah's injunction stopping Utah's trigger ban from taking effect as the court case proceeds. AIR, on view July 16–December 11, 2022, at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, makes the invisible visible, through contemporary art that explores air from environmental, social justice, and cultural perspectives. Guests included: Whitney Tassie, UMFA’s modern and contemporary curator; and Salt Lake City-based artists Elisabeth Bunker and Virginia Catherall.
Curated by UMFA’s Whitney Tassie, Air features recent works by 16 artists from around the globe and the region, including a number of local artists. The exhibition also includes posters by 16 student artists, winners of the 2020 Utah High School Clean Air Marketing Contest, and contributions from community members.
Admission is free for everyone on the first Wednesday and third Saturday of the month, thanks to support from Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) and the Utah Division of Arts and Museums/National Endowment for the Arts. Free access may vary for special ticketed exhibitions. Free tickets must be reserved in advance through UMFA's ticketing page.
