Rising journalists of SLCC bring their own spin to Radiothon, including the playlist that's been inspired by the stories they've covered on the show. Plus, student documentaries We Belong and Missing Murdered Unheard, and students lobbying for a law to stop the debarking of dogs.

  • April 22: Muchas Ramas, Una Raíz/ Many Branches, One Root, 9a-7p at Sorenson Unity Center, 1383 S. 900 W., SLC. Event by Bomba Marilé: "Join us for a day of learning about the connections between Kokobalé, Capoeira, Chinese Lion dance, and other martial arts forms hidden within context of music of dance. Sponsored by the Walmart Community Grant, Salt Lake City Arts Council, and the Sorenson Unity Center, the entire event will be free and open to the public. We are honored to have special guest instructors straight from Puerto Rico: Carlos 'Xiorro' Padilla and Melissa Santos Ortiz." 

  • Teresa Jack, SLCC student working towards legislation against debarking dogs

  • Stephanie Chatelain, SLCC student producer and lead editor of the documentary film “Missing Murdered Unheard”

  • Michelle Brown, Chair of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Utah

  • Noah Rivas and Connor O'Hagen, SLCC student director and producer, respectively, of the documentary film “We Belong”
