Rising journalists once again took over RadioACTive for #VoicesAmplified, a collaboration between Salt Lake Community College, Amplify Utah and KRCL every Monday night at 6:00 p.m. through SLCC's spring semester. Tonight, former UVU student Anton Piddubnyi shared his family's story of fleeing the Russian attack in Ukraine, which also included the birth of his daughter. Myroslava Rudnyk, a Ukrainian who now lives in Utah and has worked with the Utah Ukrainian Association. And 'Kyiv Calling' by Beton.

Host Alexie Zollinger and co-host Amie Schaeffer spoke with Anton Piddubnyi. Anton was born in Ukraine and attended Utah Valley University. Anton, his wife and their newborn daughter currently reside in western Ukraine after fleeing Bila Tserkva, just outside Kyiv. They also spoke with Myroslava Rudnyk, a Ukrainian who now lives in Utah and has worked with the Utah Ukrainian Association.

DONATE APRIL 4-15: SLCC Pre Dental Association is hosting a donation drive to support Ukrainians who are currently being attacked and displaced by acts of war. Items can be dropped off at multiple bin locations across the Redwood SLCC campus, including Student Center, Science & Industry Building and AAB (Academic and Administrative) Building. Items needed: Personal hygiene items (razors, soap, toothbrush, socks, deodorant, etc.), new or like-new clothing for all genders of adults, children, and babies. Baby food, bottles, formula, sanitary products (tampons, pads, toilet paper, wipes, etc.), blankets, and towels.
