Rising journalists of SLCC take over the show to discuss issues of the day. This week, Spring Break with a purpose, the 12th annual Tumbleweeds Film Fest for kids, and She Said: Womxn's Voices in Utah.

The 12th annual Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Kids is coming up April 22-23 at the Viridian Center in West Jordan. VoicesAmpflied got a preview with Julie Gale, Education and Family Programs Director at Utah Film Center, and movie fan Leo Cancio, 9. Check out the Tumbleweeds Film Festival here!

She Said: Womxn's Voices in Utah Anthology and workshops, featuring Salt Lake Tribune Editor Holly Mullen, Amplify Utah's Marcie Young Cancio and Claire Adams,  Associate Director of the Community Writing Center and Associate Professor of Humanities at Salt Lake Community College. Anthology submissions are due via Submittable by 6:00 p.m. on March 28, 2023. Click here for more details on submissions. 

  • March 30: Celebration for She Said: Womxn's Voices in Utah Anthology, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at The Salt Lake Tribune, 90 S. 400 W. Suite #600, SLC. "Part of the She Said Collaboration between the SLCC Community Writing Center and The Salt Lake Tribune. In February 2023, the Collaboration issued a 'call for submissions' with the intent of gathering stories and visual representations of womxn’s experiences in Utah. Join the SLCC Community Writing Center and The Salt Lake Tribune as we celebrate the womxn writers, artists, and photographers whose work will be published in the "She Said: Womxn's Voices in Utah" Anthology." This event is free, but an RSVP is required.
