Dave Galvan of Mestizo Coffee House, 631 W. North Temple St., welcomes KRCL and RadioACTive back to the coffee house made for the community.

If this is your year to grow a giant pumpkin, then listen up as Clint Nash of Utah Giant Pumpkin Growers shares ways to prep for the growing season. 

  • March 23: Utah Giant Pumpkin Symposium 2024, 10a-1p at Mountain Valley Seed Company/True Leaf Market, 175 W. 2700 S. #200, South Salt Lake. "Join us for a jumpstart to the 2024 growing season! We will have a Beginner Class and Advanced Class for growing giant pumpkins. We will also have a Beyond Master Gardener class for info on growing other giants. There will be special guests, awards, and exciting club news, too. We will have raffle prizes, and seed packets for members. You will also be able to sign up for a yearly membership at the event."

Better Days asked students in grades 4–12 to create an original piece of art about a woman in Utah history who made a difference in their community. RadioACTive talks with Better Days Historical Director Rebekah Clark and artists Tayecia, Foster, Cora and Blossom.   • May 11: Wasatch Community Gardens' Spring Plant Sale, 8a-1p at Rowland Hall-St Mark's School, 720 S. Guardsman Way, SLC. Rowland Hall-St Mark's School. "We know there are plenty of local plant sales this time of year so why shop WCG's Spring Plant Sale? Our sale features more than 45,000 food-growing plants raised from seed by participants of our Job Training Program serving women facing homelessness. These seedlings are grown with the utmost care at our certified organic Green Phoenix Farm. In other words, when you shop our Spring Plant Sale, you'll gift your garden with healthy plant starts while also helping us work toward our vision of a community where everyone has access to healthy, local food."
