Nat Williams, democracy policy associate at Stewardship Utah, returns to report on lawmakers' plans for election reforms. Earlier today, the Government Operations Interim Committee met and discussed several bills, including ballot information accessibility, election code, ballot counting and drop boxes. David Sanders of Salt Lake Community College and SLCC Outreach Librarian Erica Gudiño stop by to talk about a December event celebrating the legacy of Henrietta Lacks.
- In 1951 doctors harvested Lacks' cells while treating her for cervical cancer. Without her knowledge or consent, they were offered to medical researchers. To date more than 100,000 medical studies have been conducted using HeLa cells.

"If you need help with food this season, come and receive a turkey and sides for your holiday meal! Drive North on West Temple to be directed to an entrance of the Smith's Ballpark Parking Lot. A volunteer will load a turkey and sides into your car. Limit 1 turkey and bag of sides per vehicle. Walk-up options available."
Utah author Kase Johnstun, whose latest novel, Cast Away (Torrey House Press), is a dual narrative that shines a brilliant light on a quirky and wonderful family as they experience displacement. Johnstun also is the programs manager for the Utah Center for the Book, which produces a book festival every October.
