Be It Resolved: Make Good Trouble

As we start 2026 with a clean slate (stay with me, here), we're all making or already breaking resolutions to exercise more, eat better, make more time for family and friends, and find a work-life balance. The USA turns 250 this summer, and there's a plan to make 2026 a year of celebration and service nationwide. To up our engagement with each other and make a difference in our own neighborhoods.

  • Jan. 21: WasteLess Solutions Virtual Cooking Class Series Begins | virtual on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6-7:30 PM. "This year-long virtual cooking series is designed to help you cook nutritious, budget-friendly meals using what you already have on hand. Let’s build skills, reduce waste, and enjoy dinner again — one month at a time. Your registration is a tax-deductible donation and makes a tangible difference on food waste."

Artist Bianca Velasquez, whose new art exhibit, You're the Best, opens January 17 at the Austin & Magda Jones Gallery, Southern Utah Museum of Art, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City. Give Bianca a follow on IG: @biancavelasquez.tv

  • Jan. 17-March 7: You're the Best! "Artist Bianca Velasquez reimagines what it means to win, to achieve, and to be celebrated. The exhibition was born from a massive collection of trophy parts salvaged from a now-closed Salt Lake City shop. By reconstructing and remixing these trophy parts with humor and playfulness, the exhibition turns the traditional 'hall of trophies' on its head. Instead of a space demanding reverence, You’re The Best! invites laughter, curiosity, and connection. Each piece becomes a playful reminder that the real reward isn’t the object itself, it’s the experience, effort, and joy behind it. Here, everyone is celebrated. Everyone gets to walk away a winner."
