In the kitchen, patience is key. So says Chef Melissa King, an internationally celebrated culinary artist who graced the 2024 Sundance Film Festival with mini masterpieces at the Chase Sapphire Lounge.

Chef Melissa King is a two-time champion on BRAVO's "Top Chef," and has since gone on to judge for the show and host "Tasting Wild," a National Geographic docuseries on Hulu.

King is also an advocate and activist for the queer community.

2024 marked 14 years for Chase Sapphire as a sponsor of the festival. Attendees over the years have likely stopped into the lounge on Main Street throughout the day, as it has offered refuge from the cold in the form of a cozy environment to settle in and network.

Chef Melissa King returned to their second Sundance as part of the Chase Sapphire Lounge experience. King designed a daily menu of brunch and late-afternoon bites attendees could experience while relaxing in the lounge. A build-your-own spice bar — a tribute to King's own custom-designed spice blend, featured in bags of popcorn distributed at the lounge — and a hot chocolate bar were also part of the experience.

The lounge also featured panels, musical performances and private parties in the evening to round out the Sundance experience.

This year, the Chase Sapphire Lounge is open to Sapphire cardmembers. So if you have a Sapphire card, stop in for an unforgettable experience through Tuesday, January 23.

KRCL spent a couple impromptu minutes with Chef Melissa King to find out what advice the guru would share with the novice chef and how to make the most of your food journey.
