Dates and Deadlines:
Nov. 8, 2016: General Election Day
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m on Election Day
Registration:
By mail: Must be postmarked at least 30 days before Election Day
Online or In-person: Up to 7 days before Election Day; visit vote.utah.gov for online or your county clerk’s office fore in-person
Oct. 11, 2016: Last day to register to vote and still receive a ballot by mail
Nov. 1, 2016: Last day to register to vote and do so at the polls Nov. 8. However, there is a same-day voter registration pilot going on in 10 Utah counties. Be sure to bring proof of residency to the polls (usually 2 forms of ID with your address on it) and you will be given a provisional ballot.
You can text the word “voterise” to 788-683 to start the registration process by smart phone, or visit vote.utah.gov.
Voting requirements:
Valid I.D. -- or --
Two forms of I.D. that include name and evidence that voter resides in precinct
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m on Election Day. If you have any questions, please contact your county clerk.
Vote by mail:
Ballots will be mailed at least 3 weeks before election day
Postage-paid return envelopes will be provided
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than the day before Election Day
Ballots may also be returned to Vote Centers and Drop Boxes in-person.
