Hispanic Heritage Month, Autumn Equinox at Antelope Island State Park, Legacy of Lowell, NHMU John Wesley Powell exhibit, MWEG and ReTHINK Tank on Gun Policy

- Hispanic Heritage Month with Julie Torres of Take Care Utah and Carla Locatelli and Vitor Karpa of the Brazilian Arts Center. Coming up this Saturday:
- Utah Hispanic Heritage Parade & Street Festival, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Gateway, SLC. This free event is produced by Take Care Utah
- Brazilian Block Party, 2:00-10:00 p.m. at 700 S. 400 W., in the Granary District, SLC. This free event is produced by the Brazilian Arts Center.
- Celebrating the autumn equinox with Friends of Antelope Island and The National Parks.
- Sept. 22: Benefit Concert: The National Parks Band, for Antelope Island, 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Antelope Island State Park. This fundraiser concert is for Friends of Antelope Island – which funds visitor programs on the island. CLICK HERE for tickets.
- Legacy of Lowell Service Project Saturday, with Landon Clark, student chair, and Erik Nhem of the Bennion Center. CLICK HERE to see all the projects that would love to have your help this weekend.
- John Wesley Powell: Objects & Stories from the Colorado River Expeditions -- special exhibit at NHMU on Sept. 22. RadioActive talked about the cultural and historical significance of the exhibit with Marjorie Chan, the UoU geologist and geophysicist who convinced the owner to store them in Utah.
- Rethinking gun policy with Catherine Eslinger of Mormon Women for Ethical Government and Sui Lang Panoke of ReThink International.
