Aliens, Immigrants and Other Evildoers with Jose Torres-Tama, ACME Sessions, La Misma Luna turns 10, trash audits and other sustainability challenges with P3Utah and the Utah Recycling Alliance

- P3 Utah’s Steve Klass and Utah Recycling Alliance’s Sarah Bateman on trash audits and other sustainability challenges.
- Sept. 20-21: P3 Utah 2018 Business Sustainability Conference. Curated to educate professionals, students, and business owners to increase social and environmental change as well as income, for those driven to make a difference in the world via commerce. CLICK HERE for tickets.

- Aliens, Immigrants and Other Evildoers with performance artist Jose Torres-Tama and Jorge Rojas of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts
- Sept. 11: ACME Session: Immigration, DREAMers, and the Right to Belong, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Public Library, 210 E. 400 S., SLC, in the Tessman Auditorium. FREE. Hosted by Utah Museum of Fine Arts, this ACME Session brings together community members, visiting artist Jose Torres-Tama, and community leaders to spark dialogue regarding themes of immigration, belonging, and culture.
- Sept. 14-15: José Torres-Tama's: Aliens, Immigrants and Other Evildoers, 7:30 p.m. at Sugar Space Arts Warehouse, 132 S. 800 W., SLC. A sci-fi Latino noir performance solo, Aliens addresses the anti-immigrant hysteria gripping the United States and exposes the hypocrisies of a system that dehumanizes the same people whose labor it readily exploits.
- Ligiah Villalobos on the 10thanniversary of La Misma Luna, just as relevant today as when she wrote it in 2001, got it made and took it to Sundance in 2007.
- Sept. 12: Join Utah Film Center and Utah Museum of Fine Arts for a FREE film screening of LA MISMA LUNA featuring a post-film Q&A with screenwriter Ligiah Villalobos. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, 410 Campus Center Dr., SLC. Free and open to the public. No tickets needed.
