Pitfalls of Medicaid Block Grants, Gender and Journalism

Hosted by Lara Jones and Noor Ul-Hasan, tonight's show explored the role of women in journalism with a panel of local reporters and photojournalists. Here's the rundown:

  • Jerry Costley from the Disabled Rights Action Committee on the local impact of Republican health care reforms
  • Photo journalist Kim Raff on Through Her Eyes, Through Her Words, a new exhibit by 20 female journalists while on assignment in Utah. See it Thursday night at 6 p.m. at SLCC - South Campus, 1575 S. State Street, SLC, including a panel discussion and reception.
  • Female journalists discuss their experiences on the job. Guests: Kim Raff; Jennifer Dobner of The Salt Lake Tribune; Whitney Evans of KUER; Sammy Jo Hester, Photo Editor, Provo Daily Herald; Erin Hooley, formerly of the Ogden Standard Examiner, now at the Chicago Tribune.
