United Coalition for Undocumented Students at UVU Debuts, #BirdsAndTheBeehive, #HerBodi, League of Women Voters #LegUpdate, Black Lives Matter Meets Bobby Seale

    • Thursday, March 8: #BirdsandtheBeehive, 4:00-5:30 p.m., swarms the Rotunda of the Utah Capitol. It's a celebration of women as well as a statement to Utah lawmakers that the Hive is here and fighting for issues important to Utah women. Join Planned Parenthood of Utah, YWCA Utah, ACLU of Utah, Alliance for a Better Utah, KRCL, Utah Decides Healthcare, and Utah Women’s Coalition to make sure our lawmakers know we are watching, and we will hold them accountable.   • Monique Keithanne of #HerBodi, a new Utah-based company that's creating underwear for the greater good. Check out their crowdsourcing fundraiser on IFundWomen.com. At #HerBodi, each purchase directly goes back to assisting a less fortunate woman's education on her body and easier access to sanitary menstrual products.

  • Lex Scott of Black Lives Matter - Utah talked with Billy Palmer about their experience meeting Bobby Seale, co-founder of the original Black Panther Party. Seale made a stop at Salt Lake Community College last month to share his first-hand experiences of the Black Man’s life in the '60s. 

  • Emily Walsh of the League of Women Voters of Utah with a recap of day 38 of 45 at the Utah Legislature. The end of the session — March 8 — is in sight! 

    • The League has one more brown bag day the Capitol. Join them Wednesday, March 7, at 11:30 a.m. in the Seagull Room of the Senate Building. It's the building on the east side of the Capitol Campus, with the cafeteria.
