Tonight's Lineup:

A Call to Put an End to Inhumane Conditions at the Border: An Open Letter to The Nation.

  • Lev Golinkin, author and journalist, was among 36 immigrant/refugee authors—novelists, narrators, poets, memoirists, Pulitzer Prize winners, Oprah’s Book Club selections, and bestsellers from five continents to sign an open letter to The Nation to urge Congress to address "the atrocities happening on America’s southern border."

Community Forum with the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition

Liz Sollis of the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition talked about their event, the Community Forum | Domestic Violence Homicides: Facilitated by Jenn Oxborrow, UDVC executive director, and Holly Mullen, former director of the Rape Recovery Center, this event will focus on the recent high-profile domestic violence homicides that have affected our communities.

Monday, July 29th, the forum will include:

  • 60-minute facilitated dialogue from 6 to 7 p.m. 
  • A small, closed-process group where participants can talk with UDVC about a range of questions, concerns, and ideas  from 7 to 8p.m. 

Clean the Darn Air Ballot Initiative

We were joined by PhD. Economist and Stand Up-Comedian, Yoram Bauman from Clean The Darn Air who are proposing a ballot measure for Utah to provide $100 million for air quality programs, and $50 million for rural economic development per year and tax reforms. 

Volunteer for the Homeless Resource Center

Volunteers of America Utah, Executive Director, Kathy Bray on the need for volunteers at the Geraldine E. King Women's Resource Center which is set to open soon and will serve single women experiencing homelessness.
