Transgender Education Advocates - TEA of Utah's new full-time Executive Director Candice Metzler. Metzler is the first paid transgender E.D. in Utah. 

Launch of Utah Transgender Activism, a new Facebook page launched by Sue Robbins. The page presents information and research pertaining to legislation and policy. It is meant to be an educational resource for trans individuals, family and friends to be able to discuss false attacks and provide factual info.

Sundance 2020 Meet the Artist, featuring Sam Feder, the filmmaker behind Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen. The eye-opening look at transgender depictions in film and television—revealing how Hollywood simultaneously reflects and manufactures our deepest anxieties about gender—debuts at Sundance later this month.

  • Jan. 16: Transgender Health Seminar: Trans-feminine Surgeries, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Utah Pride Center, 1380 S. Main St., SLC. The University of Utah Health Transgender Health Program invites you to a free seminar to learn how our gender-affirming expert surgeons and physical therapist - James Hotaling, Jeremy Myers, Dana Johns and Kathryn Woolf can help you through your body affirming journey. Click here to RSVP.   • Jan. 25: Transformation, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Utah Pride Center. An afternoon of makeovers and socializing, culminating in a fashion show, featuring professional hairstylists, barbers, wig consultants, make-up artists, style gurus, image consultants, voice coaches, clothing exchange, and more. This event is open to those 18+ who identify as transgender, non-binary and/or gender non-conforming.

  • Jan. 26: Adolescent Transgender Health Seminar, 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Utah Pride Center. Hosted by University of Utah Transgender Health Program. The Adolescent Medicine Clinic offering Gender Management and Support Services (GeMS) will be presenting to parents and youth on the topic Adolescent Transgender Health. One provider will be presenting to parents while simultaneously in another room the other provider will be presenting to the youth.

  • Feb. 8: PAC Brunch - Fan the Flames with Senator Pat Spearman, 10a-1p at Red Butte Garden, SLC. The Equality Utah PAC deploys a team of volunteers, voter mobilization strategies and cash donations to boost its endorsed candidates to victory. The Brunch raises the funds to do all that. This year, the PAC's keynote speaker is Senator Pat Spearman, the first lesbian elected to the Nevada Legislature. Senator Spearman was the force that led Nevada’s efforts to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, and she’s coming to help Utah do the same.
