Andrew Jackson Elementary is now Mary Jackson Elementary. RadioActive talked with Principal Jana Edward and School Community Council Chair Neal Patwari, who also is a parent of a Jackson student, and students of the pre-K-6 grade school. After a year-long study and survey and a unanimous vote of support last night by the Salt Lake City School District, the school will henceforth be known as Mary Jackson Elementary in honor of NASA's first black female engineer.
