Live, homegrown music from Folk Hogan, #UrbanFarmReport with Eat Local Week Utah, a special edition of #BurninIt with the #PunkRockFarmer, #PuppyCam, and so much more!

Tonight's lineup:

Folk Hogan, Salt Lake City’s own high-velocity, folk/punk band. The six-piece lineup consists of accordion, mandolin, bass, banjo, guitar, and drums. Now big-time with Warner Music, SLC will have to share them with the world as they’re headed out on a European tour.

  • Aug. 24: 5th Annual Petapalooza 2019: Pet Adoption Event, 9a-4p at Viridian West Jordan Library & Event Center, 8030 S. 1825 W., West Jordan. Besides hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, and even reptiles, there will be 50+ vendors, selling a range of items from pet toys to things for humans. Bring your dog to shop as well, visit the pet psychic, run the agility course, and more! This event is free to attend.

Davina Smith, who started the SLC Air Protectors | 10,000 Allies Indigenous youth solidarity prayer run earlier this week.

  • Diné woman, mother and SLC Air Protectors executive director, Smith is on a 360-mile journey to bring a sacred medicine bundle from the Bears Ears National Monument to the front doors of the Utah State Capitol. Allies from across the state are joining her as an act of solidarity to bring awareness to many issues that are part of the troubles affecting the whole web of life.

Darrin Man of The Village Cooperative, a group committed to localizing the production of food by growing and distributing food in a three-block radius of the Rose Park and Fair Park areas of SLC.

  • Aug. 17: Residents Building Roots, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at 777 W. 500 N., SLC. At this FREE gathering, you will learn about the Village Cooperative. Plus, local musicians, poets, farmers, and vendors.

#BurninIt with the Punk Rock Farmer and Ashlee Mason and Jason Stock of the Ya Burned Itfood blog. Al grows it, they cook it. Click here for the recipes they used, including roasted garlic and white bean dip with rosemary and burnt eggplant with garlic, lemon and pomegranate seeds. Dee-lish!

Denise Devynck of the Utah Valley Permaculture Classroom Gardens & Greenhouse, which will host its Edible Food Forest 5th Annual Open House Birthday Party tomorrow.

Hannah Martin on Eat Local Week Utah, Sept. 7-14. Kick-off is coming up, and the week will include Punk Rock Farm to Taco. Gwen Christ of Slow Food Utah explained the Eat Local Week Challenge.
