Down the River with Everett Ruess, #REDforED talks classroom resources, #BD2020 and the story of Mignon Barker-Richmond, The Silenced American Ep. 2

Tonight's lineup:

La Disparition d'Everett Ruess, a new documentary film about the canyon country legend who  vanished in Southern Utah in 1934 at the age of 20. Guests: Ken Sanders, musician Kate MacLeod and filmmaker Emmanuel Tellier. 

  • Aug. 12: A Concert Inspired by Everett Ruess. 7:00 p.m. at Ken Sanders Rare Books, 268 S. 200 E., SLC. FREE. Kate MacLeod and Emmanuel Tellier will perform many of the songs penned and perfected during the river trip. Special thanks to Utah Humanities and the Intermountain Acoustic Music Association!
  • Aug. 13: La Disparition d'Everett Ruess, 7:00 p.m. at Salt Lake City Public Library, 210 E. 400 S., SLC. Check out this stunning documentary film about the life and disappearance of canyon country legend Everett Ruess, who vanished from Southern Utah in 1934 at the age of 20. Presented in English & French with English subtitles. FREE and open to the public, in the Nancy Tessman Auditorium of the Salt Lake City Main Library. 

#REDforEd talks about the experiences that keep teacher's in the classroom despite low pay and benefits. Guests:

  • Lisa DeFrance, who teaches 4th grade at Wastach Elementary
  • John Arthur, who teaches 6th grade at Meadowlark Elementery

#BetterDays2020: Historical director Katherine Kitterman and Dr. Jackie Thompsonwith the story of Mignon Barker-Richmond.
