Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Forrest Crawford, Weber State University and co-founder of Utah’s Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Commission, talked about Dr. King's legacy and how to act upon it today. Beat Poet Neeli Cherkovski, who will read poems from his recently released book, Elegy For My Beat Generation, at two events in Utah. 1) feature poet for the Rock Canyon Poets monthly poetry reading and open mic at 6:30 p.m. April 10, at Pioneer Book in Provo; and 2) for the CITYART reading series at the downtown Salt Lake City Library, April 11, 7:00 p.m. The readings are open to the general public. No tickets are required.
