Utah Pride Needs Speakers, West High Skeleton Crew, Utah Poet Laureate Paisley Rekdal, Dr. David Parker on Starbucks and Understanding
Tonight’s show included:
- Jocelyn Johnson of the Utah Pride Festival, which is seeking speakers for its Utah Pride Week - March & Rally, Saturday, June 2, from 1-4 p.m. It starts with a rally at the Utah State Capitol building, followed by a march down State Street to Washington Square, 451 S. - Shriya Pingali of 9112 Skeleton Crew, the all-girls robotics team at West High. During the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas, over the weekend, Pingali won a Dean’s List Award, an honor which goes to only 20 high school robotics students in the world.
- It is National Poetry Month. Tonight’s featured master of verse: Utah Poet Laureate Paisley Rekdal, who read from Imaginary Vessels, and talked about her project to "map literary Utah." Details to come!!!
- Dr. David Parker of the Center for Creating Community. He shared his take on the Philadelphia Starbucks incident.
