  • April is National Poetry Month and we'll featuring Utah poets or poems all month long. This week, poets from Wasatch Wordsmiths and Sugar Slam.

    • Tonight: Jesse Parent, a two-time runner-up at the Individual World Poetry Slam, a two-time finalist at the Ill List Invitational Poetry Slam, a finalist at the 2012 Ontario International Poetry Slam, and a two-time semi-finalist and group piece finalist at the National Poetry Slam. He has been on 9 Salt City Slam teams, has served as SlamMaster and coach for Salt City Slam, and serves on the executive council for Poetry Slam, Inc. His poetry has been featured on the Huffington Post, UpWorthy, TheBlaze.com, and WorldStarHipHop.com.

  • Nonprofits Helping Nonprofits: Jerry Rapier, artistic director of Plan-B Theater Company, and Meggie Troili of Craft Lake City. 

    • Tuesday, April 4:  A Craft Lake City Fundraiser with Plan-B. Receive a single admission to a special preview showing on April 4 at 7 p.m. for every $20 donation to Craft Lake City. 100% of the donation will go to directly to Craft Lake City!   • What happens when you give thousands of women access to free birth control? HER Salt Lake reported on the results of the Salt Lake Contraceptive Initiative. Guests: Doctors David Turok, Jessica Sanders and Kyl Myers of the Family Planning program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
